Wheels of Prio: Change log.

V0.1, january 1, 2025.

Made the program.

Made the menu.

Made the basic game loop.

Added menu sounds.

Added a basic car class with coordinates, momentum, gear level, and a sound player.

Added a basic car sound.

Added a pause menu and the ability to return to the main menu.

Added the ability to configure game options in the pause menu.

Added gravity strength, acceleration speed, and desceleration speed.

Added the ability for the car to move forward and backward.

Added the ability for the car to speed up or slow down during movement.

Added the ability to obtain car coordinates.

Added a car gear moving sound.

Added the ability for cars to automatically switch gears.

The cars were tested and their car sound and gears were turning crazy! But for the most part, they functioned like a normal car! They speed up, slow down, and of course, go crazy.

Accidentally, but thankfully, fixed the gears turning crazy!

After a few adjustments, the car sound is now being calculated and playing propperly.

Added the ability for cars to move automatically!

Added 50 automatic cars that will load when a game begins. Racing against them is fun!

V0.2, january 4, 2025.

Improved the gear shifting for cars.

Fixed an error in the sound pitch calculation function that made the car engine sounds go crazy.

Added the determination energy stat.

Added sound to play when the determination energy stat increases.

Added spirit world entrance, exit, and loop sounds.

Automatic cars will now speed up when you get past them.

Adjusted the spirit world entering and exitting functions and made them better.

Updated the spirit world entering and exitting sound and made them better.

You can now only go to the spirit world when your car's gear is 3 and above. When your car's gear drops below 3, you will get out of the spirit world automatically.

Added the ability to automatically end the game when the car exits the spirit world.

You can now only enter the spirit world after gathering enough determination energy, which is the total number of cars in the race track divided by 2.

Added turn alert sound. When this sound starts playing, it means that a wall is near, and that the player must move away.

Increased the size of the map.

Ensured that when a car reaches the end of the map, the entire map will change and all cars will be relocated.

Added a sound for map changing.

Automatic cars will now heal themselves after being completely destroyed.

V0.8, january 22, 2025.

Removed the constant energy loop when charging determination energy, making the charge more quieter.

Automatic cars will now recover from crashes, not just by healing themselves, but also by moving away from walls and restarting.

Fixed an error that caused automatic cars to move nearer the walls instead of turning away from them!

Added sloaps on the race track. They have no effects on the cars yet.

Updated car engine and some crash sounds.

Added some glass shard sounds that will play when healing cars, making it more exciting to heal a car! These sounds will also play when a car crashes, but their pitch will be lower.

V0.9, january 23, 2025.

In this version, the map no longer changes when a car reaches the end of the map. Instead, the car is transported to the beginning of the map.

Made sure that extra sounds will stop playing when a car crashes.

Adjusted the car crashing functions.

Updated spirit world sounds.

Updated main menu and spirit world music.

Added some extra sounds that will be used later on.

V0.10, january 24, 2025.

Added the ability for cars to create a shield using determination energy. The shield protects the car, but can be damaged by critical crashes.

Some of the extra sounds has be made to play when shields are activated, hit, or destroyed.

Fixed an error causing the cars to not play every sound in the car variations.

Walls will now play a sound when a car crashes into them. An extra sound has been set to play for the wall.

An extra sound is set to play when a car lands from the air. This is done as preparation for a future jumping mechanic.

Brought back the map changing mechanic. The world will now change occasionally as cars reaches the end of the map. All cars are also relocated on each world change.

Sloaps are now functional!

Sloaps and turning will now affect car speed.

V0.11, january 25, 2025.

Fixed an error that causes cars to not crash when turning left and moving forward, or turning right while moving backward!

Walls will now play on the left or right side of the stereo field when a car crashes on the left or right side wall.

Fixed some errors related to crashing. Sometimes, the engine will not change sound. Sometimes, the crash will overload the audio system!

Updated speed boost sounds.

Added the ability for cars to jump by sacrificing some determination energy.

Added learn game sounds and difficulty setting menu.

V0.12, january 30, 2025.

Removed the spirit world and the ability to jump.

Added a finish line on the race track.

Added a scores menu after the race is finished.

Fixed an error that causes the game to freeze, The cars are healing forever!

Added a number of laps setting.

Adjusted car behaviors. The winning car will now slow down.

V0.14, february 1, 2025.

Updated android support. Keys can now be held by keeping a finger on the screen.

Updated keyboard layout. Changes are listed below.

S will start a car after crashing, otherwise it will speak the number of completed laps or sections.

D will speak determination energy. When energy is being focused, this will create the shield instead.

F will still focus the energy.

G will speak the current gear. When energy is being focused, this will speed up the car instead.

H will still speak the car's health. When energy is being focused, this will heal the car instead.

The arrow keys will still accelerate, decelerate, and turn the car.

The escape key will still pause the game.

Added an option to read the game documentation into the main menu.

Some of the keyboard commands above no longer work on the latest version.

V0.15, february 3, 2025.

Updated walls. They will no longer play repeatedly when a car crashes on them.

Made it so that shields can absorb damage and convert it into energy.

Removed the ability to absorb damage. It can make racing too easy, and remove the challenge.

Added bumps on the track section tiles that will cause the car to occasionally hit the tiles. This will not give damage to the cars.

Made car behaviors better.

When the race is over, the player can listen as much as possible to what happens with the other car. This is not the case with previous versions.

Difficulty will now increase when a race is won, but it will not go above 10.

It is now possible to continue the race after losing.

Added explosion chance for cars. The longer they run, the hotter the engine becomes. Combining the heat of the engine, the damage of the car, and the speed of the car can create a chance for exploding. Crashing also has a chance to explode the car. When the car explodes, both health and energy is drained.
